Zach Parise and USA refuse to be denied in third period

The US really controlled the last half of the third period.

It kept pressing the action, and it was finally rewarded with Zach Parise's goal. Make no mistake, Parise has been every bit as valuable to this team as Ryan Miller.
He has improved every game, and it was no accident coach
Ron Wilson had him on the ice at the end of the game.

Parise's will and determination - he kept banging away at the puck in front of the net - is why this Canadian crowd remains in shock halfway through intermission.
It can't believe it was 24.4 seconds from winning its coveted gold medal. Now, the game is going into sudden death where one goofy deflection could determine who wins the goal medal.

This is hockey at its best, riveting, fast-paced action from end-to-end with few whistles and penalties to slow the action.
