John Randle enters Hall of Fame

John Randle, the NFL’s career sacks leader among defensive tackles, has been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The former Minnesota Viking and Seattle Seahawk had 137½ sacks in his 14 pro seasons, including a league-high 15½ in 1997. He made six straight All-Pro teams (1993-98) and was chosen for seven Pro Bowls.

Undrafted out of Texas A&I in 1990, Randle became known for a combination of speed and power. He made the other NFL teams pay for that draft oversight by averaging 11½ sacks over a nine-year span with Minnesota.

Randle thanked the Vikings, “a team that believed in me and gave me a chance to play defensive line when most teams thought I was undersized.”
