2010 CMA Awards Winners and Show Highlights
2010 CMA Awards Winners and Show Highlights: Stars are shining in Nashville tonight as the 44th Annual CMA Awards have taken over Music City. Carrie Underwood started the live broadcast off with a bang, zooming on stage in a sports car and belting out her hot new 'Songs Like This,' joined by Keith Urban and her co-host, Brad Paisley, on guitar. It was a lively start to the show that hasn't hit a low note yet.
Lady Antebellum are two time winners, taking home Single of the Year for their mega crossover-hit, 'Need You Now,' along with Vocal Group of the Year honors for the second year in a row. Tom Douglas and Allen Shamblin, the songwriters behind Miranda Lambert's mega-hit, 'The House That Built Me,' are winners for Song of the Year. The Zac Brown Band are Best New Artist winners, while Sugarland hold onto their Top Vocal Duo bragging rights for a third year.
A record-breaking nine-time nominee tonight, Miranda Lambert takes home Album of the Year for her platinum-selling, critically-acclaimed 'Revolution.' Tonight just happens to be the bride-to-be's 27th birthday. Her fiance, Blake Shelton, takes home his very first Male Vocalist of the Year trophy, in his first time being nominated.
