Sony New PS3 Update 3.56
Sony New PS3 Update 3.56 - 3.56 Update is now available to be downloaded. Most people who tried to connect to their PlayStation 3 today must have noticed that their game console needed an update. The 3.56 firmware was released last nightt and you are advised to download as soon as possible.
Do not expect anything new from the firmware other than a minor security patch that has the ability to block homebrew.
In other terms this is obviously a first step taken by Sony to counter the major hack that PlayStation suffered in early 2011. Just under two months since the previous PlayStation 3 system software update has passed, and today Sony has released PS3 Firmware version 3.56. ccording to VP of Network Operations Americas Eric Lempel via Sony's official blog on the update, to quote: "A new PS3 system software update, v3.56, will be released soon. This is a minor update that adds a security patch."
Needless to say, if you value PS3 homebrew, jailbreaking, downgrading or accessing PSN on a hacked PS3 it would probably be wise to hold off updating until PlayStation 3 developers can examine the 3.56 update.
