Trent Reznor Wins
Trent Reznor Wins - Trent Reznor Wins Golden Globe for 'Social Network' Score. Trent Reznor never expected to earn a Golden Globe nomination for scoring 'The Social Network,' yet the Nine Inch Nails frontman got more than he could have hoped for during the 68th Annual awards ceremony Sunday night (Jan. 16): he won.
Reznor, along with English musician Atticus Ross, took home the award for 'Best Original Score-Motion Picture' for the gloomy, tension-filled songs heard throughout the film, which details the ups and downs Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg experienced while creating the popular social networking site.
Former Golden Globe winners Alexandre Deslpat for 'The King's Speech,' A. R. Rahman for '127 Hours' and Hans Zimmer for 'Inception' were nominated in the category. Previous nominee Danny Elfman for 'Alice in Wonderland' also earned a nod.
Reznor's win comes on the heels of landing another high-profile scoring gig. The 45-year-old Pennsylvania native is writing and recording the music for 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,' based on the best-selling novel by Stieg Larsson.
