ESPY Awards 2010:Best Moment

 Top 3 ESPY Awards:Best Moment

The nominees for Best Moment are Phil Mickelson (Masters 2009), Joannie Rochette (Winter Olympics), New Orleans Saints (Super Bowl XLIV), or Landon Donovan (World Cup).

Phil Mickelson's Masters 2009 victory was an emotional one. His wife had been battling breast cancer for a year. She wanted to watch him at the Masters but felt too weak to attend in person. But on the final putt, when Mickelson one it, his wife was cheering him on, waiting for him.

Joannie Rochette had one emotionally-driven bronze medal at the Winter Olympics. Her mother unexpectedly passed away only four days before. She persisted and won the medal.

New Orleans was struck by Hurricane Katrina only four years before. The Saints were in the dumps. Their stadium had been damaged. It was used to house many of those displaced.Their run to the Super Bowl took the city with it. The city celebrated, not only the Saints. And the Drew Brees moment with his kid is fantastic, too (see above picture).

With the United States on the brink of being eliminated from the World Cup, after multiple calls did not break in their favor, Donovan carried the team out of the rubble. He broke a tie with Algeria after scoring a goal in extra time during the second half of the match. The United States moved on in the World Cup, only to lose in the following round to Ghana.
