ESPY Awards 2010
The nominees for Best Female Athlete are Maya Moore, Diana Taurasi, Lindsey Vonn, and Serena Williams.
Lindsey Vonn had high expectations coming into the 2010 Winter Olympics. She won the downhill in the 2010 Olympics, the first American woman to do so. She won the bronze in the super G. She is the defending World Champion in downhill and super G. She won the World Cup championship the last three years.
Diana Taurasi is on the WNBA champions, the Phoenix Mercury. She won the MVP of the finals as well as the regular season MVP and the scoring title (22.5 points per game). Along with Cynthia Cooper, Taurasi is the only player in the history of the WNBA to win all of these accolades in one season.
Maya Moore is the star basketball player on the reigning NCAA champions, the University of Connecticut Huskies. She won the ESPY for this award last year. She was unanimously voted onto the ALL-BIG EAST first team. She also won the award for NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player and State Farm Wade Trophy Player of the Year.
