Box Score of Duke Vs UNC - Duke’s most hated rival was running the Blue Devils off their notorious home court, so Mike Krzyzewski gathered them around at halftime and gave them a locker-room speech.

Nolan Smith scored 22 of his career-high 34 points after halftime, Seth Curry finished with a season-high 22 and No. 5 Duke rallied from 16 points down to beat No. 20 North Carolina 79-73 on Wednesday night.

The Blue Devils (22-2, 9-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) trailed 43-27 in the final minute of the first half and were down 14 at halftime before clamping down on the Tar Heels, outscoring them 50-30 in the final 20 minutes to match the second-best halftime rally in school history and keep hold of first place in the league.

Wes Welker foot

Wes Welker foot - The New York Jets, specifically Rex Ryan and Antonio Cromartie, have spent some time trash talking and ripping New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady over the last two weeks. On Thursday, Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker stepped up to the podium for a media session and subtly jabbed the Jets coach's foot fetish by making 11 "foot" references.

"These are the games you play for. What you spend all year getting ready for and you just want to put your best foot forward," Welker said with a straight face.

He also said that Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis and Patriots teammate Deion Branch have "great feet."

The Patriots' trash-talking is a little more subtle than the Jets'. Wes Welker is my favorite NFL player. This video only increases his awesomeness as he not so subtly drops 11 foot references in a teleconference while. Like a dedicated foot soldier serving at the foot of a Patriots coach who will surely leave a giant footprint when all is said and done, on Thursday, the Patriots Wes Welker dipped his toes into the Jets-Patriots war of words. He made sure to toe the line, of course.

Oregon basketball court - The Oregon Ducks opened Matthew Knight Arena on Thursday, but it was the court itself that stole the show. Between the trees, glare and eye-popping visuals, the court was panned by critics. The Oregon Ducks unveiled their newest toy on Thursday night, an impressive $200 million basketball arena. Matthew Knight Arena, named after Nike founder Phil Knight's son, is truly a top-notch facility, with amenities that rival many of the best NBA arenas.

While the arena itself is great, the court looks like a mushroom trip gone horribly wrong. The design incorporates a number of symbolic elements -- as explained by Knight himself before the game -- but it's the trees and the multi-colored hardwood that makes watching a game on TV nearly impossible.

Jon Scheyer Scores 21 Points In 75 Seconds - Here's all you need to know: Jon Scheyer scored 21 points in 75 seconds in front of 3990 fans. One of them just happened to be Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski. Highschool infamous performance at the Provios West Basketball Tournament. I finally found the video and wanted to share it. Currently one of Dukes go to man. Incredible... (not all 21 but he did it). Then, with Duke up by three points with under 30 seconds to play, the traveling wizard who allows Duke players to blatantly walk with no repercussions showed his head again. Jon Scheyer was the center of that attention, too

Oregon's cheerleaders new football uniforms

Oregon's cheerleaders new football uniforms - Not to be outdone by their male compatriots in the 2011 BCS Championship Game, the Oregon Ducks cheerleaders have new uniforms of their own, provided, of course, by the school's bottomless Nike connections:

Traditionally outfitted in sports bras and micro-minis, these uniforms are a departure in that they're ... different sports bras and micro-minis! Say what you want about the color scheme, but they at least adhere to the school's stated palette of yellow and green, unlike the muted silver and gray currently being rocked by the actual football team. (Can you call a uniform muted if it includes neon yellow socks? We need a ruling here.) And if you can spare a moment from ogling the ladies, cast a sop of sympathy towards the boys, whose racerback-looking shirt patterns are doing them no favors.

National Championship Game time 2011 - the college football system is really quite easy and I believe a college football playoff would eclipse March Madness and maybe the Super Bowl as the most exciting and financially lucrative yearly event in the sporting world. Here's how it works.

Eight teams qualify for the tournament: the six champions of the automatic qualifying leagues (ACC, Big Ten, Big East, Big 12, Pac 10, SEC) and the two highest-ranked teams in the BCS Standings. This year that would have put TCU and Stanford in the tournament.

You then let the BCS establish the seedings and incorporate the bowl games into the tournament. The four big bowls (Rose, Orange, Sugar, Fiesta) rotate. One is the national title, two are the semi-final games and one is in the first round.

Under armour high school football game 2011 - The GACA North/South All-Star game already concluded. Tonight at 7 p.m. ESPNU will televise the 2011 Under Armour All-American game, which features many of the best high school players from around the country. It is now that time of year when I can safely cover recruiting without turning the creep factor up to 11. One sign of the transition to "stuff normal people do" from "stuff people played by Steve Buschemi in the eventual made-for-TV movie do" is the annual January proliferation of high school all-star games. Of course, the football played at these events is exactly what you would expect from a gaggle of high schoolers who've never played together and are learning how to over the course of a week. It's generally pretty bland. The real show is the commitments, a cavalcade of hat-picking, teeshirt donning, and camera mugging bound to either convince you that your squad is on the rise (thanks to its new bluechippers) or doomed for brisk failure (because who knew Rivals had started giving negative star ratings?).

Watch the Eagles vs Texans Live on NFL: With his first career interception on the Texans, Trevor Laws had a second to the last drive set to the Eagles with precision great field position just two minutes remaining in the first half. But, Jason Avant and Brent Celek flapped out with TD passes from Michael Vick which gave way for David Akers FG to widen the lead, 20-10 on the first half.

Michael Vick played well as far as the hal goes, he got 15-22 with 180 yards and a TD. LeSean McCoy had two touchdowns on the air and on the ground while David Akers drilled two field goals.

David Lee: After his second surgery

David Lee: After his second surgery to clean out his infected elbow, Warriors forward David Lee has finally "turned the corner" and is headed to full recovery.

That is according to Warriors general manager Larry Riley and the doctor who performed the second surgery. Lee is resting at Stanford Hospital after a follow-up surgery to cleanse the infected area. He is likely to be out at least another 10 days.

"I'm totally comfortable with the situation," Riley said. "He's getting excellent care and this thing will be resolved."

Lee will remain at Stanford Hospital for the next couple days as they are feeding him antibiotics intravenously. He will still be on an antibiotic regimen when he is released and will be required to rest. The wound has to be closed and the infection will have to be completely eradicated before Lee can return to action. Even when he checks out, Lee will be continuously monitored and will have to be evaluated again at Stanford before he is cleared.

According to sources, the initial expectation after Lee sustained the injury on Nov. 12 was that Lee would be out about two weeks. That timetable could still be accurate though it is possible Lee could be out a bit longer.

Dr. Bill Maloney, head of orthopedic surgery at Stanford Hospital, said the infection was in Lee's skin and in the tissue directly below the skin. He performed the second surgical cleansing and said it did not spread to the muscle or bone.

Syracuse Basketball 2010-2011 Expectations: Expectations are a difficult obsession. Take the 2010 SU Football team. At the beginning of the season, attractive much everyone said their expectation was anywhere between 5-7 wins. Now, if Syracuse "only" wins 6-7 games, there will be a sense of dissatisfaction considering the way this season in progress.

Expectations are organic (and grass-fed?). They develop. So what you expect today isn't what you expect two months from now.

Keeping that in mind, I'm inquisitive to know your expectations for this year's Syracuse basketball team.

It's not that they a huge gap between their floor and their upper limit. I think we can all agree they will be good. The question is...how good? A lot of that is going to depend on whether or not Kris Joseph becomes the player we expect him to, whether the freshmen have the kind of impact we hope they can and whether or not The Scoop & Rick Show becomes a hit.

There's a lot more variables than that but if those three things work themselves out, we could be in for quite a season. In previous years, we always seemed to have a lot of room to grow. When you're coming off a season when you've been ranked No. 1, earned a one-seed in the NCAA Tourney and made it to the Sweet Sixteen, it's asking a lot to expect more from the next squad.
